To help further with your project you might like to have a look at the following websites, they have free activity pages, downloads and printouts and many feature a selection of art disciplines for all age groups. Most are designed to be understood by children, as well as teachers and they can be undertaken with minimum resources.

Due to popular demand we have made the Big Arts Week information pack available as a PDF download. This means that and schools and artists who want an extra copy can get one easily and anyone who missed the deadline can download it and create their own Big Arts Week.

As well as a comprehensive database of museums and attractions throughout the country, the Teachers section has a great downloadable pack for making a museum in the classroom, full of ideas and information on turning private collectors into budding museum curators.

A collaboration between five major transport museums with activities and projects for schools, all themed to the idea of transport by land, sea and sky.

Living Library
They have many great resources for teachers, including a ‘this day in history’ feature to provide some inspiration. There are also classroom activities, complete with step by step instructions to help you see the project through to its conclusion with the minimum of fuss.

Although it is a site set up for a Tolkien based exhibit, the ‘resources’ page has a wide range of activities revolving around fantasy stories and creatures, from writing and drawing to movement and even making a pointy hat.

This is a comprehensive and ever expanding guide to the arts in Wales. The education section has some practical lessons involving studying paintings, detailing colour, light etc. that should open up the mysteries of composition.
